Internet Of Things (IOT)
A technology to network objects, e.g. equipment, devices, machines and sensors together by the internet. Each of them is associated with an URL (web address) that is linked to a web page with information about the object.
Machine to machine (M2M)
A technology to network together a group of sensors, middleware, software and applications by the internet. It helps to reduce the cost of telemetry and make communications between devices a lot more convenient.
Ubiquitous Computing (ubicomp)
The technology in which information processing has been thoroughly integrated into everyday objects and activities. Users exposed to an environment with ubiquitous computing will be using many computational devices and systems simultaneously. However, they may not be aware that they are doing so.
Ambient intelligence (AmI)
An environment with electronic devices embedded in everyday objects that are sensitive and responsive to the presence of people. The technology provides greater user-friendliness, more efficient services support, user-empowerment, and support for human interactions.
